A Local Team for Conservatories and Roofs

Kent Window Wizard is a local, family-run business with over 20 years of experience in the window trade. As well as windows and doors, we upgrade and repair conservatories, fit warm roofs and roof lanterns, and replace old flat roofs with long-lasting EPDM rubber.

Every job starts with a free survey at your home. We check the frame, base and existing roof, explain your options and send a written quote. We are Certass registered and fully insured.

What We Do

Most conservatories built in the 1990s and 2000s have polycarbonate or glass roofs that leak, rattle in the rain and make the room hard to heat. These are the jobs we do most.

Warm roof conversions

We take off the old polycarbonate or glass roof and fit a solid, insulated roof with a plastered ceiling inside, so the room stays comfortable all year.

Conservatory roof replacement

Leaking, discoloured or damaged roof panels replaced, or the whole roof renewed where it has reached the end of its life.

Conservatory windows and doors

Replace tired or misted conservatory windows and French or patio doors with new uPVC or aluminium units. See our replacement windows.

Leaks and repairs

Leaking roofs, failed seals, misted units and doors that drop or stick. We find the cause and fix it properly. More on double glazing repairs.

Roof lanterns

Bring natural light into a flat-roofed extension or orangery with a roof lantern. We fitted two on a recent extension in Rochester.

Flat roofs in EPDM

New timber flat roofs finished in long-lasting EPDM rubber for extensions, porches and garden rooms.

Why Choose a Warm Roof?

A polycarbonate roof has very little insulation, so the room bakes in summer and loses heat fast in winter. A warm roof adds insulation and a solid ceiling, cuts the noise when it rains and turns the conservatory into a proper part of the house. It is usually far less disruptive and costly than knocking the conservatory down and building an extension.

How a Warm Roof Conversion Works

We survey the conservatory first to check the frame and base can take a solid roof. On the day, we strip the old roof, fit the new insulated roof structure and finish it outside, then plasterboard and plaster the ceiling inside. Some conversions need building control sign-off, and we will tell you at the survey if yours does.

A Recent Warm Roof Conversion

This conservatory had an old polycarbonate roof that made it far too cold in winter and unbearably hot in summer. We replaced it with a solid warm roof, turning it into a weather-tight room the family can use all year.

Conservatory and Warm Roof Questions

Can my conservatory take a solid roof?

Most can. The frame and base need to be sound and strong enough, which we check at the free survey before we quote.

Will I need building control approval?

Often, yes. Replacing a glass or polycarbonate roof with a solid one is normally treated as building work that needs building regulations sign-off. We will tell you what applies to your conservatory at the survey.

Will the room be darker with a solid roof?

A little, as the light comes in through the windows rather than the roof. Most people find it well worth it for a room that is comfortable all year, and spotlights in the new ceiling make a big difference in the evenings.

Do you repair conservatories you did not install?

Yes. We work on most uPVC conservatories, including leaking roofs, misted units and doors that stick or drop.

Which areas do you cover?

Across Medway, including Chatham, Rochester and Gillingham, and on to Sittingbourne, Maidstone, Gravesend, Sheppey, Faversham, Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay.
